Sara Bir is a chef and a writer living in Marietta, Ohio. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, she left Ohio as a young adult to get lost, and returned years later to find herself. Sara has worked as a chocolate factory tour guide, a sausage cart lackey, a food editor, a recipe tester, a restaurant critic, a librarian, and an arts and entertainment reporter. In her spare time Sara enjoys walking in the woods and looking for fruit - a passion that inspired her pawpaw recipe zine, The Pocket Pawpaw Cookbook. Her writing has been featured in Saveur, Edible Ohio Valley, Best Food Writing 2014, two Full Grown People anthologies, and on the website Serious Eats, Lucky Peach, and Paste Magazine. | |
