One of the most prominent buildings in downtown Green Bay, the Beaux Arts-style Brown County Courthouse was completed in 1910. The dome is capped with copper and features a bell and clock tower. A sculpture on the grounds entitled The Spirit of the Northwest, designed by Sidney Bedore, depicts a Fox Indian, Jesuit missionary Claude Allouez, and French explorer and trader Nicholas Perrot.

A pleasing mix of wildflowers on the Greene Prairie lies beneath a pastel sky. Prairie-expert Henry Greene replanted native species in this fifty-acre preserve in the 1940s and 1950s. The prairie continues to thrive as part of the University of Wisconsin Arboretum.
