Who Pooped on the Colorado Plateau?
Scat and Tracks for Kids

While the marmot and the kids looked at each other, Mom walked over to a group of small, twisted trees.

"Does anyone know what these tracks are?" she asked.

Michael joined her. "They look like the coyote tracks, only smaller."

"You can't see any claw marks," said Emily.

"Good thinking," said Mom. "These are from a gray fox. Their claws are so sharp and narrow that they often don't appear in the tracks."
