Grand Canyon Impressions

"Prehistoric pictographs are hidden inside a small cave in Chamberlain Canyon. Difficult to accurately date, these images are estimated to be more than one thousand years old. Their exact meaning is unknown, but some experts speculate they were part of religious or hunting ceremonies."

"Redwall Cavern is a favorite stopping for rafters on the Colorado River. This limestone amphitheater is yet another feature named by Major John Wesley Powell, who described it as a "vast half-circular chamber." Powell estimated that it could hold fifty-thousand people. not nearly that large, it does dwarf rafters standing at the opening. The only way to reach Redwall Cavern is by boat."
