Ellen Baumler align= Ellen Baumler, interpretive historian at the Montana Historical Society, has authored several books and articles on Montana history, including the popular Spirit Tailings series, published by the Montana Historical Society. Winner of Montana the Magazine of Western History's Vivian A. Paladin Award for best article of 1999, she is familiar to Helenans as a teacher, lecturer, and enthusiastic tour guide.
Dave Shors align= Dave Shors worked as a reporter and later the editor for Helena's Independent Record for nearly 30 years. He first became fascinated with Helena's rich history as a reporter during the tumultuous Urban Renewal period of the early 1970s. He has contributed to or helped compile content for five books about the history and people of the area.
