  • It's no secret that Yellowstone National Park is one of the most amazing places in the world. As you can imagine, it has all kinds of great stories to tell. There are stories about first peoples trading Yellowstone obsidian to Indian tribes in the East, and explorers putting the very first boat onto Yellowstone Lake, and the Army building a Fort in Mammoth Hot Springs. There are stories about ancient volcanoes and molten lava heating geysers from deep underground and wolves being reintroduced and bison coming back from the edge of extinction.

Yellowstone was set aside way back in 1872, and since then it has become one of the world's most treasured places. With 24 delightful illustrations created by the author, Yellowstone for Kids not only looks at the Park's history but it looks at its natural history as well. It tells the story of how this amazing place came to be. No matter how old you are, Yellowstone for Kids is the perfect introduction to our country's very first National Park.
