  • Take a bite out of Anaconda, Montana’s history

Immigrants flocked to Anaconda for work when Marcus Daly built the smelter in the late nineteenth century and settled together in neighborhoods where they retained their language, customs, celebrations and cuisine. Anaconda’s Melting Pot Cookbook was created to honor and preserve that rich culinary heritage. These recipes evoke vivid memories of aromas drifting out of the kitchen and the people who prepared the dishes, and this book pays tribute to Anaconda’s melting pot of cultures. All proceeds from the sale of the book support the Anaconda Community Foundation’s mission to build a permanent financial legacy for Anaconda through the generosity of its citizens and friends in order to develop and maintain a thriving community forever.

“Recipes evoke vivid memories of aromas drifting out of the kitchen, the people who prepared the dish and specific family gatherings. They remind us of our home, our parents and grandparents and the caring and love that went into the preparation of our favorite foods.”
